Who are we?

MedEntry UMAT Preparation is an organisation committed to helping students enter health science courses such as medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy and pharmacy. We are a team of health professionals, academics and successful students who have used our collective knowledge of entrance procedures (such as the UMAT and interviews) and the health profession to create a comprehensive program. This program has been remarkably successful in helping students achieve their goals.

MedEntry UMAT Prep is an initiative which was made possible as a result of generous support from The Foundation for Young Australians, a non-profit community organisation.
We have been given a grant by The Foundation to enable us to offer our program. The aim is to enhance youth participation and create opportunities for the development of young people. Specifically the venture aims to help Australian youth keen to pursue a career in the health sciences, especially those who are traditionally under-represented.

We have a support structure of academics in the health sciences field, medical students, medical interns, those practicing as GPs, specialists, dentists, physiotherapists and pharmacists with whom we consult in the formulation of our UMAT & interview course materials.

Our 2 day workshops are professionally managed so that we can ensure personal attention and tuition; and maximize interaction.

The UMAT/interview workshops are run by Dr Ed Boyapati, an academic with over twenty five years of experience teaching in Australian universities. He has published several articles on educational research and has delivered numerous papers/keynote addresses at several Teaching and Learning conferences. Dr Boyapati has been training students for tests such as the UMAT for over two decades. Among his successful students include his own children, both of whom were offered places in all medical schools and currently hold Scholarships for Excellence to study Medicine, which are awarded to the best incoming student each year.

Our Practice Exams are considered the best by far among UMAT preparation courses. This is because they are comprehensively and meticulously researched and written by experts with a thorough knowledge of the real UMAT (see item under News). Our resource materials also contain thousands of questions for you to practice on!

Our success rate is outstanding. 95% of our students who have been through our full training program have been offered interviews, and 90% have been offered places in one or more medical schools.
